About Aliya:
Aliya Hunter (she/her) is a performer, writer, and fight director based in New York by way of Southern California. Among many projects, she has made a short film about violent impulses, written a play about sexual fulfillment, and choreographed a stage fight for balloon swords. She is primarily interested in performing and writing pieces that explore her personal history and socialization as a queer woman of color. She is currently exploring magical realism, the troubles of girlhood, and being emotionally honest as a performer and writer. She received her MFA in Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College.
