About Aliya:
Aliya Hunter (they/she) is an actor, writer, drag queen, and fight director based in New York City by way of Southern California. Among many projects, they have made a short film about violent impulses, written a play about sexual fulfillment, and choreographed a stage fight for balloon swords. She is primarily interested in performing and writing pieces that explore her personal history and socialization as a queer femme of color. They are currently exploring magical realism, the troubles of girlhood, and being emotionally honest as a performer and writer. They received their MFA in Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College.
