About Aliya:
Aliya Hunter (they/she) is an actor, writer, dancer, and fight director based in New York City by way of Southern California. Aliya proudly creates art in many mediums, including film, drag, dance, solo shows, and plays. She thrives in live performance and is primarily interested in performing and writing pieces that explore her personal history and socialization as a queer femme of color. They have performed original work at The Tank, Paper Kraine, and many gay bars in Brooklyn. In their creative practice, they are currently exploring heartbreak, clowning, the labor movement, and voice work. They received their MFA in Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College.
